My top tips:
1) Choose a low-fat ice cream. But check the calorie content too. Some low-fat ice creams are very high in sugar, which means they are high in calories and not good diet food at all.
2) Look out for low sugar ice-creams. They're out there.
3) Choose an ice cream on a stick. This is a satisfying and sensible portion size, and removes the temptation of going back to the tub for just one more scoop.
